Follow the unnamed narrator through the streets of Montreal as he sneaks in and out of people’s homes and lives, thinking he is part human/part cockroach. Rawi Hage follows up Deniro’s Game with an equally compelling read that lets the reader into the underbelly of the city. It’s hard to like the main protagonist but he will certinaly draw you in. Rawi Hage has written another winner.
“It saddened me to erase happiness with water. It saddened me to drown sighs and sparkles with hoses. And then it saddened me to bring back the shine and the glitter” (excerpt from “Cockroach”)
